About
I’m a self-taught photographer. I make photos for myself, with no expectation of reward. I’ve been making photos on and off since I was a teenager, when I got my hands on a “real” camera, a Pentax K1000, which I still have. A few years ago I picked it back up and started taking it seriously, spending most of my spare time on it. I’m not chasing technical perfection. I’m more interested in how a place felt than how it looked on paper. Or experimenting, just to see what happens.
I grew up in a small town in the Adirondack Mountains of Northern New York, spending my childhood on the region’s ponds, lakes, trails, and back roads. While most of the kids I knew couldn’t wait to leave, I came away with a lasting appreciation for quiet, natural beauty. It still informs what I make today.
I live in northwestern Vermont with my girlfriend, two FIV+ cats, and a judgmental tortoise. When I’m not making photos, I’m usually on a motorcycle, exploring the paved and dirt roads of Vermont.
